Brad Prefontaine will preside over the Atlanta Knights youth program, overseeing the on/off ice instruction and skill development of our skaters. He has made a commitment to our club working to develop players to their fullest potential to ultimately advance them to become more competitive players at all ages.
Prefontaine a native from Camrose, Alberta, Canada has 17 years of coaching experience. Coaching all levels including youth hockey, AAA, college, juniors and professionally the last 5 years with the Columbus Cottonmouths where he held dual post as the CHA Hockey Director. Brad played hockey at all levels growing up in Canada including juniors and collegiate hockey before turning pro and playing professionally in the ECHL and SPHL. “We are excited to welcome Brad to our Atlanta Knights family” said owner Domenic DiDomenicantonio, “and we are looking forward to Brads experience, passion and energy to build and move our program forward to the next level.”
Brad has two children Parker (17) and Savannah (13) who are happy for their dad's new position. Prefontaine has been around the rink the last few days. “I am very excited and proud to be joining the Atlanta Knights program and meeting the players and their parents.” said Prefontaine “I look forward to working with Coach’s Kevin St. Jacques and Ralph Barahona, further learning from their experience and knowledge of the game. They both played pro for a very long time and that will only enhance my job of developing strong players, and strong people, within a strong program.”
We welcome Brad and his family to the Knights organization and are looking forward to great development within our club! We are building and reshaping the Atlanta Knights and Brad Prefontaine brings even more credibility to a program that already has former Professionals Ralph Barahona and Kevin St. Jacques. All 3 coaches have decades of experienced coaching and developing players of all ages at the youth, juniors and collegiate levels.
