Scott Fankhouser Coach Scott Fankhouser is Coach-in-Chief of the Atlanta Junior Knights, Head Coach of the Knights Elites and General Manager of the Knights Junior Elite Franchise.Scott comes to the Knights with an exceptionalresume and achievements as a player and as a coach . A native of Bismarck, north Dakota, Coach Fankhouser enjoyed an outstanding career as both a collegiate and professional hockey player.Coach Fankhouser attended NCAA Division I University of Massachusetts, Lowell, MA from 1994 to 1999, as a scholarship athlete where he earned his Bachelor of Liberal Arts Degree.He played four years between the pipes for the River Hawks.In 1994, he was drafted in the 11th round by the St. Louis Blues (NHL) but elected to complete his college experience as a student-Athlete. After graduation, Coach Fankhouser embarked on an impressive professional hockey career, playing 19 years as a professional, culminating with several years as a goaltender for the Atlanta Thrashers (NHL).Coach Fankhouser’s career included year of experience playing in the NHL, AHL, ECHL, IHL and in Europe. After retiring from his professional playing career, Coach Fankhouser extended his hockey career serving as a coach at the professional level with Bloomington (IHL) and with Cincinnati (ECHL).He holds a USA Hockey Level IV coaching certificate with a impressive coaching style, and his attention to detail and his ability to develop players is unmatched. Coach Fankhouser’s Player achievements include being named the 2004-2005Toledo Man of the Year , winner of the James Norris Memorial Trophy, IHL Team GAP 2000-2001, IHL Turner Cup Championship 2000-2001, SJHL Championship 1995-1996 and Playoff MVP of the SJHL in1995-1996. Coach Fankhouser’s passion of the game of hockey is only eclipsed only by his top priority,his wife of 7 years, Lexie and his two young boys, Isaac and Gabe. |
